Hi-Gain Kemper Profiles Vol. 1 – Built for Modern Metal Power
At Nevo Studios, we set out to create a collection of Kemper profiles that capture the raw power and precision of real high-gain amplifiers. The Hi-Gain Kemper Profiles Vol. 1 pack was designed for metal guitarists who want aggressive, mix-ready tones that deliver clarity and punch in both studio and live situations. As a result, every Kemper profile provides a balanced blend of weight, detail, and definition right out of the box.
Developed in Collaboration with Kim Wiklund
This first volume of our Kemper profile series was created together with guitarist Kim Wiklund from Orecus and Monoscream. We profiled and fine-tuned 6 powerful amp heads through 5 different cabinets each, resulting in 46 unique Kemper profiles. Because of this, every tone sits naturally in a dense metal mix and blends perfectly across multiple rhythm guitar layers.
Each amplifier was carefully adjusted to its tonal sweet spot, capturing the ideal combination of tight low end, defined mids, and controlled high frequencies. In addition, these Kemper profiles cover a wide spectrum of gain structures — from modern djent precision to thick death and thrash-style aggression.
Captured with Real Hardware and Analog Precision
All profiling sessions were carried out at Nevo Studios using our Amek/Neve analog console and ATC reference monitors. Therefore, every Kemper profile retains the harmonic depth, punch, and warmth of the original amplifier. The signal chain included microphones such as the Shure SM57, Sennheiser MD421, Neumann U47, Royer 121 and a range of other dynamic and condenser models. Each combination was tested and refined to achieve the most authentic and powerful tone possible.
In other words, these Kemper profiles represent the real sound of metal amps driven to perfection — captured with precision and deep understanding of how heavy guitars should sit in a mix.
Designed for Real-World Use
Each Kemper profile was tested through studio monitors, FRFR systems, and live PA setups to ensure consistent performance everywhere. Moreover, gain levels, EQ curves, and dynamics were balanced so that the tones work instantly without adjustments. Whether you use a Kemper Head, Rack, or Stage, these profiles translate seamlessly in every environment.
Authentic Metal Tone from Nevo Studios
In short, the Hi-Gain Kemper Profiles Vol. 1 pack delivers the same tones we use daily at Nevo Studios. Combining real amp character, analog signal flow, and modern aggression, this first volume sets the foundation for our expanding Kemper series — giving you everything you need for tight, heavy, and professional metal guitar sound crafted for both precision and power.
